Starting September 12th, 2016, the trash and recycling pickup day for Franklin Trace will move to Friday.
Speaking of recycling, participation by Franklin Trace residents is extremely low. I initially thought recycling wasn’t worth the effort, but signed-up because my wife insisted. It was much easier than I thought it would be – there’s no sorting and everything goes in the same container. I’ve changed my mind and encourage others to participate. To sign-up for curbside recycling, call Republic Services at 317-917-7300.
Heavy trash pick-up is still the third week of every month.
The week after Labor Day 2016, trash will be picked-up on Wednesday, September 7th. Friday pickups begin the following week.
Perhaps we negotiate a group rate and build into our annual dues…just a thought!
I like Jason’s idea. There is also free recycling at Franklin Township Community Park (about 3 miles from neighborhood). However, with gas, commute time, and sorting, it may end up being more practical with Jason’s idea.
All of our households daily papers and magazines are deposited at Franklin Central High School in the bins provided. I suggest it be voted on my residents if you are going to add on a fee for recycling collection. This currently is an option to purchase from the City, is it not?.
I think this is something that would be extremely difficult to get voted in; it’s past the scope of our covenants. It’s probably better for each homeowner to make their own decision to participate (or not.) But perhaps we could negotiate a group rate if we do increase participation for those who do choose to participate.
A group discount might help some participate. We barely fill the can we have since we can’t add weeds and branches to the cans. Those are picked up on the third Wednesday of the month.
