Front Drainage Ditch Repair Has Begun

December 9th, 2008 Leave a comment Go to comments

The planned repair of the front drainage area along Southport Road is now underway.  The appearance should improve dramatically in the near future as the silt that has clogged the gravel is being removed.  Here are the planned improvements to the drainage system:

  • Remove existing gravel/silt and replace with new gravel
  • Install corrugated pipe at bottom of drainage ditch below gravel
  • Install rip-rap (large rocks similar to what surrounds the ponds) on the west-most end of the drainage ditch to minimize future silt contamination from the field to the west
  • Install silt barrier log to minimize future silt contamination from the field to the west.
